Pan Galactic
I recently heard a client say that he’s come to realize that corporations die, just like people. If you had told him thirty years ago that Pan Am Airlines could go out of business he would have told you that you were crazy. They were as solid as the sun and moon.
When I was a kid my father brought me an illustrated book called, Tour of the Universe. In it a couple wins a tour of the local galaxy in the year 2577. Pan-Galactic was the “airline” of choice.
The futuristic touring shuttles stuck with me and I designed this piece with that in mind.
A good friend had always told me that my space scenes were too peaceful. No explosions or obvious conflict. With that in mind I turned this idyllic futuristic vision into a catastrophe with a stark contrast between the tranquil earth and the ravaged space station.
