Pirate Concept Ship for Kris Longknife: Redoubtable
One of my favorite things about doing science fiction illustration is that it gives me the opportunity to explore space ship design. While designing this intimidating looking ship for the background of the eighth Kris Longknife book I became obsessed with the design and started to integrate it into a spacescape I’d been working on.
I wanted the pirate ship to look like a big gun or gaping maw ready to devour their prey. The beat up battleship and upside down sharks fin add to the ominous quality of the design.
